Sat Jan 3: Annual New Year Walk. A new location and leaders- Figure of eight walk with lunch at Queen Victoria, Staples Road, Loughton. Do either or both loops, or just come for lunch. Meet: Stubbles car park, Nursery Road, Loughton at 10.30 am (or for lunch only approximately 12.30 pm at pub.) Buses 20,397 to New Crown stop in High Street or Central Line Station (10/15 min walk). Leaders: Pat & Ron Andrews.

Mon Jan 26: INDOOR MEETING. History through Essex Town and Village Signs. Revd. Keith Lovell.

Sat. Jan 31: Barnes Wetland Centre WWT Reserve. Meet: Outside Main gate at 11am. Underground to Hammersmith (District and Piccadilly) take the 283 which will bring you directly into the centre. Alternatively, buses 33, 72 and 209 stop nearby (alight at the Red Lion). Admission Prices: adult £6.75, senior citizen £5.50. If WWT member bring card. Leader: Gillian Foster.

Sun Feb 1: Third Working Day at the Whitehouse Reserve. Entrance off Woodford High Road, close to roundabout at junction with Salway Hill. Use the gravel drive and go through left-hand gate (other gate is Woodford Rugby Club!). Arrive 10.30am onwards, stay as long as you wish. Bring lunch if you are staying all day. Park to the left of the Whitehouse, not in front of it please.

Sat Feb 14: Morning walk. High Ongar – hopefully finding snowdrops. Meet: Chingford Station at 9.30am. Members’ cars. Leader: Yvonne Griffiths.

Mon Feb 23: INDOOR MEETING. Hainault Forest. Brian Ecott.

Sat Feb 28: All-day outing. Regent’s Park. Enjoy once again close-up views of varied wildfowl on the lake. Lunch at Regent’s Park Café. Meet: Regent’s Park underground station at 11am. Leader: Daphne Gilbert.

Mon Mar 1: Fourth Working Day at the Whitehouse Reserve. (see Feb 1).

Sat Mar 13: Morning walk. Fishers Green. Meet: Stubbins Lane car park at 10am. Leader: Joyce Dongray.

Mon Mar 29: INDOOR MEETING. Costa Rica – Small but Beautiful. John Wyatt.

Sat Apr 3: Morning walk. Pishiobury Park and River Stort. Meet: Chingford station at 9.30am. Members’ cars. Leader: Rita Clayton.

Sat Apr 24: Open Day at the Whitehouse Reserve 2.30pm onwards. Be shown around and join us for refreshments. (See Feb 1 for location and car parking).

Mon Apr 26: INDOOR MEETING. AGM followed by a slide show.

Sat May 1: Short all day walk. Bluebells – and other spring flowers at South Weald Country Park. Bring lunch. Tea and coffee are available at the centre after the walk. Meet: Hawkey Hall, Woodford Green at 9.30am. Members’ cars. Leader: Daphne Gilbert.

Fri May 7 to Fri May 14: National BNA Conference, Field week and AGM. Hallsannery, Bideford, N. Devon. Details in Country-Side magazine.

Sat May 22: All Day Walk. Beacon Hill Country Park, Bean, Dartford, Kent. PH lunch at "Black horse". Meet: Hawkey Hall, Woodford Green at 9.30am. Members’ cars.Leaders: Pat and Ron Andrews.

Mon May 31 (Bank holiday): Early morning walk. Looking for birds at Sewardstone Marsh. Bring light refreshments. Meet: Chingford Station at 8.30am. Members’ cars. Leader: Rita Clayton.

NOTE Outdoor Meetings: It is advisable to wear suitable clothing and footwear;
~ Sorry, but we do not allow dogs to accompany our walks;
~ We would urge members to share car transport to events;
~ If you need to arrange a lift, please telephone the above number, however, a spare seat cannot be guaranteed.
~ Should you intend to join any outdoor activity somewhere other than at the meeting place, the leader should be told in advance. We remind you that you will not then know if the walk is cancelled or changed at the start.
BNA cannot be held responsible for any mishaps or accidents that may occur on Branch outings or at the Branch nature reserve at the Whitehouse.

Indoor Meetings: Our indoor meetings are held in the hall adjacent to Chingford Parish Church, at the Chingford Green end of Station Road. Enter via the church gates. We are allowed in only 10 minutes before 8.00 pm. The evening talks will commence at approximately 8.15pm., with a break for tea at about 9pm.
