Climate Change is undoubtedly
today’s hot topic. However, the hard evidence based on long-term
observation of natural seasonal and annual events often seems
to get overlooked amongst the hundreds of column inches and broadcasting
hours devoted to theories, predictions and one-off examples. This
hard look at the long-term evidence was the focus of the held at Cressing Temple, Essex, in May
2005, and specially organised on this occasion to celebrate the
BNA’s Centenary.
With the participation of , and climate experts from DEFRA, The
Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, the British Trust for Ornithology,
and the University of Sussex, the full day event examined trends
based on over a hundred years of carefully recorded observations
of natural life, and considered the likely future effects on human,
animal and plant life. Click here
