Fill in the date for your diaries now! TV naturalist presenter and star wildlife cameraman SIMON KING will be at the BNA Annual Conference on 10th May 2008. Simon will be the 2008 recipient of the Peter Scott Memorial Award, and will be addressing Conference. Simon is best known as presenter/wildlife cameraman on the BBC's 'Springwatch', 'Autumnwatch' and 'Big Cat Diary'. Among the other speakers will be Professor Alastair Fitter, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of York University, and very well known as writer of excellent field identification guides, on which he often collaborated with his father, Richard Fitter (a long time Vice President of BNA). Alastair will be talking about his father's amazing achievements as a naturalist, about field guides, and the root connection between fungi and trees. Professor David Bellamy will chair the talks.

The Conference will be again held at Forest School, Snaresbrook, easy access by Train/Tube or from M25.

The Association is most grateful for the support of the following for this important natural history event :

Jordan’s Cereals Ltd

Jordan’s are proud to be supporters of the British Naturalists’ Association, and act in partnership with the Association to enhance the condition of the British countryside and its wildlife. Conservation Grade was originally launched by Bill Jordan in 1985. Conservation Grade farmers use 10% of their land directly to the benefit of wildlife by planting wildflowers for insects and crops to give birds food on the farm, creating wildlife habitats for bats, skylarks, bumblebees and other species, encouraging the natural regeneration of endangered cornfield plants, and preserving existing special habitats such as ponds and ancient woodlands on farmland.
